Well the snowfall this week had me feeling all Christmassy - I just LOVE snow and all the excitement and joy it brings to our household. However, I also find that Christmas lights really help to spread some festive cheer. Throughout Berkshire there are some amazing lights popping up and we always go out for a Christmas light tour after dark, with so many people going to so much effort, it's worth the adventure!
One set of lights that have become an annual Christmas treat for us to go and jump in the car and visit are the lights on Long Hill Road, Chavey Down on the border of Bracknell and Ascot. Each year the home owners work so hard putting on an awesome display and glowing animals (from deer, giraffes and swans) and Father Christmas, snowmen and trains of course. The display just appears to get bigger and bigger each year. The house collect donations for a different charity each year and this year are supporting Berkshire Vision.
The lights are within a walled and gated garden but you can see them from the road side, the road can be busy with cars but parking has been made available on the verge outside the house and there are signs up asking people visiting the lights not to block the road. Last year we visited on a Saturday evening and it was busy and very dark. So obviously just make sure your family are safe and watch the road.
Are there any Christmas Lights that you like to take your family to see? Comment on the blog post below with the location and why they are great, it would be fantastic to add some more to our family tour and other families in Berkshire may be keen to hear about them too.
