Dadima's is a food & lifestyle business founded by Anni Ludhra, celebrating heritage wisdom from grandmothers. The brand ethos of cooking heritage recipes in a mindful way, is inspired by Anni’s grandmother (who she calls dadima in Punjabi) and other grandmothers she interviewed for her cookbook in 2016. Mother and daughter team, Geeta and Anni, host Indian cookery workshops for children, as part of their aim to pass on culinary wisdom to the next generation.
The cookery workshops are called ‘Cook Like a Dadima’, which sums up their teaching philosophy of cooking mindfully, with a creative, education angle and most importantly, having fun. Children’s Mindful Cooking Workshops for 5-9 year olds will run in 2019 during the May Half Term (31st May), Summer holidays (30th and 31st July) and in December (7th December). Workshops are £65 per child for a full day and take place in a Windsor/Heathrow location. Children are taught in small groups and cook vegetarian Indian food with interesting ingredients.
Dadima’s also host exclusive workshops with guests, which cost £99. On 30th August 2019 there is a Dadima's Cooking and Clay Exclusive Workshop with a local potter. This will include cooking a dadima’s style menu together in the morning, followed by an artistic afternoon creating two pieces of clay work led by talented artist Anamica. Bookings are also opening soon for Sunday 8th December, when a past quarter-finalist from The Great British Bake Off series will be baking with the children after cooking a dadima’s style menu.
