Grays Farm, Fruit Picking, Wokingham

Updated: Jun 26, 2018

Last weekend we headed to Grays Farm to ‘pick your own’. I have not been fruit picking for years and last week we decided that it would be a lovely family activity to do outside in the sunshine at the weekend. So we headed to Gray’s Farm to pick strawberries on Saturday afternoon and all three of us loved the 'pick your own' experience.

The pick your own farm was busy but there was still room for everyone to pick their own fruits and vegetables. I was pleasantly surprised by the array of fruit and vegetables on offer, as any other ‘pick your own’ farm I had previously been to (in a different part of the country) only tended to offer soft fruit picking. At Gray’s Farm you could pick strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, red currants, black currants, beetroots, runner beans, spinach, broad beans and more, obviously depending what was in season. You could either buy a large picking punnet or have a small picking punnet for free and then once you picked your fruit or vegetables you paid for the weight of fruit or vegetables you had picked.

We spent a lovely hour at the farm, wandering around the crops and discovering what we thought was the best place to pick our strawberries. There was free parking on site and a farm shop.

We certainly plan to visit again and have really enjoyed our strawberries this week.
