It's great now The Lexicon in Bracknell is open as it's brought a number of new restaurants to the area. We have been in to Bracknell a few times since the opening and tried out a couple of the restaurants and look forward to sharing some more restaurant reviews soon.
Last week we headed to Tang's all you can eat Oriental Buffet. During Christmas and New Year we were in Worcester and stumbled across an all you can eat Chinese Buffet and were really impressed, coincidently Tang's Bracknell started to follow Berkshire Mummies on Instagram so we thought it would be worth a trip.
To get into Tang's Restaurant from the high street you have to go upstairs (via lift or stairs). The restaurant works in a slightly different way to a conventional restaurant as you pay for your all you can eat meal upfront and then are shown to your table. You then order your drinks at the bar and refillable drinks are self-service. The restaurant's decor is quite dark but ambient and there is plenty of seating. You then just get stuck in to the food and wow there is plenty of choice from sushi, salad, Chinese including starters such as satay chicken, prawn toasts, prawn crackers and crispy duck and pancakes alongside a huge selection of mains with rice, noodles and vegetables. There is also an Indian counter with a range of curries including all the sides you would expect including popadoms and naan bread. The selection was great as it meant everyone could find something they would enjoy.
The dessert offering was also impressive and included fresh and tinned fruit, cakes, jelly and ice-cream. The kitchens were also open so you could see the sushi and cakes being prepared. There were also plenty of staff around when we went clearing away dirty plates.
The good news is children under 3 eat free and children under 150cm are half price. Lunch is £8.50 during the week and £9.99 on Saturdays (there are 60 dishes served during the day) in the evening there are 100 plus dishes with additional cooking stations for Dim Sum, Seafood and Teppanyaki. We went during the day so didn't get to try these out. Evening meals are £14.99 Monday - Thursday and £15.99 on Friday and Saturday. There is also a Tang's restaurant in Slough.
We enjoyed our first experience at Tang's, Bracknell and will go back, maybe in the evening next time (if we can find a babysitter) as it would be nice to experience the 'live' food stations.
