This morning on a cold, dry but wintery day we headed to the play area at The Look Out, Bracknell. It was really quiet but does get busier in school holidays and warmer days. The car park costs £2 for 4 hours or £4 for the whole day, which I really don’t mind paying as the outside play area is free, big and fantastic and we spend a good length of time exploring the park and sometimes also take the dog for a good walk around the woods before playing in the park. It’s a great way for children to burn off some energy and I just adore the woodland environment.
The play area itself is split into three sections – an inclusive play area with wheelchair friendly play equipment, an infant play area and junior play area. The majority of the playground toys are made from wood and there is a train, large boat and impressive castle. There is also an additional area next to the playing areas which allows you to build dens out of wooden logs... great for construction skills, team work and problem solving.
There is a large picnic area and café if you wish to make use of these, the Look Out Discovery Centre which I will blog about in the not too distant future. The Discovery Centre costs are additional as are the Segway experiences and Go Ape which are also based at the Look Out site alongside bike trails. To get to the Look Out play area and woodland in Swinley Forest head to Nine Mile Ride, Bracknell, RG12 7QW.
